Latest News From The World Poker Tour Event At The Bellagio
|
19 October 2005
Some big names are out on the first day, which is only to be expected. Among them are Phil Hellmuth, who departed quietly, David Grey, Ted Forrest, and a host of other well known players. The defending champion, Carlos Mortensen is also out. The tournament is down to 250. 417 started in the end, so first prize is a tad over $1 million.
There were some monster tables on the first day. Not only the one I mentioned in my previous blog, which was frightening enough, but also:
Chip Reese, Ted Forrest, Kenna James (played with him yesterday, what a character), Mark Gregorich (played with him yesterday as well, another very tough customer), Robert Mizrachi. All at one table, and most of them renowned for their super-aggressive play.
They`re almost done for the first day. Doyle was playing at the featured table up on a little stage and he suffered a fall, hurting his shoulder. But he is okay, I am assured.
