Student Comments
This was my first time playing at Poker Room and I will be there for a while. The software is awesome. After experiencing some problems with the new Bodog software I decided a change was called for and I`m glad I made the move to Poker Room. They have Sit&Go`s with 10, 20 and 30 players. Quite nice as the prizes are bigger and you can stay tight for longer.

I went down to a measly 200 chips early on due to being horribly outdrawn but I fought back very well. I played very tight throughout, and made a few good steals. Reached heads up on about equal chips but the wheels came off. I just didn`t feel as confident as I had throughout the tournament. I suspect it may be a case of my starting requirement being too high and not being strong enough.  A couple of heads up games with the coach and some reading is needed.

Notable Hands
About halfway through I doubled up against the chip leader. I got dealt AA on the big blind. An early player raised to about 2x the blind and I just called, deciding I`ll try a trap (yes risky, I know). The flop came A  4 3. He bet out about 4 times the big blind. I figured he held an A with a low kicker (due to a small raise pre flop). I just called again. The turn came 8 and he bet the same again. I went all in over the top and he called. I figured I had him beat because his bets weren`t big.

Coach Comments
I think Poker Room has the finest software bar none. I also think that their Sit and Go tournaments are the best value, because the standard of play is variable (a lot of weak players, although you can run into strong opponents at the higher levels) and they offer deeper starting stacks. This last point is crucial for good players, as I will show at later levels of the Experiment.

Ryan`s result here is excellent, because he battled back from being severely short-stacked, and to finish second in a tournament is a very strong showing. A lot of players get upset because they didn`t win it all, but you need a lot of luck heads up when the chip count is even and your mindset needs to be very aggressive and loose. More on this in a subsequent post, but well done.
