Ryan Stays At Level 2 For Now But Makes GREAT Strides!

23 January 2006

Due to our break over the holiday season it is impossible to promote Ryan to level 3 just yet, mainly because the bankroll is not big enough for the jump. But he is getting better all the time, and will DESTROY the opposition at any tournament stakes level below $20!

That`s a bold claim to make, but think about the type of player he will meet at $5 and $10 sit and go`s - mostly rookies and "entertainment" seekers. The purpose of the Experiment is to create a poker player who wins at the highest level, and Ryan has developed a ruthless streak early on, which is great to see. His knowledge of the game has advanced beyond the stakes for which he is playing.

That brings me to an interesting point: he could stay at this minor level and win money consistently, which is important. But, in order to become a top-class player he MUST PLAY AT HIGHER LEVELS. As you work your way up the tournament ladder you will encounter better players than you have seen in the past, and you will also encounter players that are better than you. This is how you truly learn the game at the end of the day. You must recognize what other players have done in order to best you, and incorporate that into your own game.

It is about money, as that is the fuel for the journey, but the ride is also about gaining knowledge and pushing yourself to new heights. So, as soon as we have the money, which will be soon based on his results, we will journey to Level 3. Join us, and challenge Ryan along the way!
