| I gained quick respect at the table as a player
went all in when I had flopped a set after checking the big blind. He had AK
off and was gone. On two subsequent hands I re-raised after the flop,
feeling at the time that I was in the lead. On the first one I got called
down and won, and on the second the other player folded. I was up to about
3000 chips from the starting stack of 1500 after less than ten hands which
allowed me to play super tight and aggressive. Later I was able to steal a
few pots which kept me going. I continued a strong run at the final table,
taking the lead up to around 15000 chips with three other players left. All
three went all-in and I was up against 30000 chips at heads up. He would
raise to about 1600-2000 every time from the small blind and I was able to
either put in a small re-raise or race him out if I held a good hand by
going all in. I finally decided to call his all in with QT suited. He was
ahead with K9 and I got lucky with the T. |
