Student Comments
I thought I`d quickly go and recover my losses from a $20 game. Easier said than done. I adopted my normal tight game but the cards weren`t great. I limped in late position a few times but just lost chips, wither by getting re-raised, or by making probe bets after the flop and getting re raised. I got KJ off in late position and put in a small raise. The flop gave me an inside straight draw and I bet half the pot. I got smooth called all the way to the turn by JJ. That started my downfall. need to learn more about playing these marginal hands, and getting involved in a more pots is still a big challenge for me.
Notable Hands

Coach Comments
I`m only going to say this once - no group of hands is more overvalued or played with less skill than unpaired face cards, including AK, AQ and AJ in that list. These are DRAWING hands people - they are way behind pocket deuces until further notice. You need to improve on the flop with these hands, and if you`re holding KQ,KJ, or heaven forbid QJ then you need to improve a LOT before you should feel confident about your hand. You`re ideally looking to hit a straight with these cards or TOP TWO pair. When you make top pair and have to rely on the Q or J as a kicker you must be cautious and ready to throw these hands away if need be. Conservative play is rewarded in this scenario...it`s a KEY lesson.
