I suppose getting bombed out in these free
tournaments doesn`t matter, as long as I do well in the money games. This is
the second week in a row where I get knocked out early in the multi table
tournament, only to win some money in a cash side game (even if it`s only a
few dollars). I quickly realized that I was up against some very loose
players, judged by the cards that they were playing. I kept seriously tight,
which started drawing some comments from the table. I only played four hands
the whole time (until heads up). My opponent had 4 times the stack I had,
but I very quickly chipped away at his stack.
Notable Hands
Won with J2 off suit after I called from the small
blind and he checked. The flop came xx2. He checked, I put in a big bet
which he called. The turn came 2, which I checked. He bet when an A came on
the river and I went all in over the top which he was very excited to call
as he was holding A8.
