Week 1 Of My New Online Poker Regimen
|
21 March 2007
March 21 - If I followed my own advice I`d be a rich man, but that was all in the past. Now I have a new opportunity to put my words into practice and so here goes: the first week of following The Rules, as discussed in a groundbreaking column on the Insider, is in the books!
METHODOLOGY:
- Only play $55+$5 Turbo 9-handed No-limit Hold`em SNGs
- Play 1 a day unless I cash, then +1
- All tournaments were played at Full Tilt Poker
THE RESULTS LOG FOR WEEK 1:
DAY 1: 2nd; 1st
DAY 2: No poker (friend in town)
DAY 3: 9th
DAY 4: 2nd; 7th
DAY 5: 1st, 6th
DAY 6: 1st; 4th
DAY 7: 9th
RECORD:
Played: 10
1sts: 3
2nds: 2
Unplaced: 5
$ won/lost: +$400
ANALYSIS:
I definitely seem to do better in the first tournament of the day (played 6:2-2-2) where I made all my profit. When I play the second event I seem to lose focus with only one solid result so far (played 4: 1-0-3), but perhaps it is too early to draw any conclusions?
I haven`t finished 3rd yet, which is positive, since it means that once I cash I take it further and manage to get heads-up, where anything can happen. I am also happy that my heads up record so far is 3-2 since that is one aspect of my game that tends to be weak.
Only one finish on the dreaded bubble, and that was a particularly unlucky loss (AJ cracked by A5, followed immediately by 99 cracked by AT).
