Week 2 Of My Winning Poker Regimen
|
24 March 2007
March 24 - I`ve cheated a little (not a massive surprise to anyone who knows me) but only in the sense that I`ve played more online poker than the rules decree. But rules were meant to be broken when you`re "running good", so here are my Week 2 results.
METHODOLOGY:
There was one alteration made here, whereby I played more than 2 tournaments on days where I felt like I wanted to play cards.
- Only play $55+$5 Turbo 9-handed No-limit Hold`em SNGs
- Play 1 a day unless I cash, then +1 or +2 or +3...
- All tournaments were played at Full Tilt Poker
THE RESULTS LOG FOR WEEK 2:
Tournaments Played: 11
1st place finishes: 3
2nd place finishes: 3
3rd place finishes: 0
Losses: 5
Week 2 Profit/Loss: +$540.00
Week 1 Profit/Loss: +$400.00
So, my overall record to date is played 21, won 6, 2nd 5, lost 10.
ANALYSIS:
If you`re playing Sit `N Go tournaments and cashing in first or second in 50% of them you can show an excellent return on investment. The fact that I am playing turbo events also means that they are done quickly - I`ve been eliminated 9th (first out) four times, so those take mere minutes to complete!
But even when you go all the way to the last two they rarely take up an hour of your time, which is why I chose single table turbos in the first place.
I`ve also found that luck in terms of winning close races plays a huge part. Invariably my tournament will come down to a race - when I lose I lose out on the cash, but if I win it chances are I can go all the way.
