Online Poker Multi-Tabling - Man Vs Bot

27 August 2007

PokerStarsAugust 27 - The Multi Tabling stories of the first wave of online poker pros are now enshrined in poker lore, and were probably true - we gasped at tales of Erik Lindgren and Scott Fischman playing at 6 tables simultaneously. Version 2.0 is, however, a little more advanced as we now have men/machines playing at 17 tables simultaneously!

Is this even possible? One certainly cannot make quality decisions if faced with seventeen games, no matter how tight-aggressive your strategy is, and trust me you have no other option but to jam with premium hands and fold everything else.

This occurred yesterday on Poker Stars and the player`s name was pokereggscom. I checked out the site and found out that it is under construction but will feature poker software. So is it possible that this is the fabled poker bot?

I understand all these college kids who can`t get laid because they`re a little geeky have taken to online poker like the previous generation of social retards took to Magic, and the one before that to D&D - and so they have a LOT of free time on their hands, as well as some stuff they should really wipe off before they try another mouse click, but how short is your attention span when you have to play 10+ games at once?

I`m going to stop ending every paragraph with a rhetorical question because it is annoying. Suffice to say that they want to earn the FPP`s so they can also get a sports car sent to them for free just like that Dario/Daria androgenous clown at this year`s WSOP (* please note that Harrahs, being a bunch of hypocritical fools in no wany endorses the use of the term WSOP for a discussion of online poker, but do realize that it is the lifeblood of their tournament).

I have no problem calling him an androgenous clown because his command of the English language is shall we say basic at best, but he also likes to Multi-Table a lot, when he isn`t wearing flowing football scarves and prancing around the Rio.

So back to pokereggs, who played like a Bot - not that well - and got booted out in mid-pack. I struggle to see how you can see 17 games at once unless you have a bank of monitors in front of you like Billy Baldwin in Sliver (old school reference, look it up, it was awful), but if that`s the case surely you`re better off watching six different porn feeds from the Bang Brothers?

That was a better quality rhetorical question to end off on, so I`m not apologizing for that one.
