Isildur1 Identity Revealed
|
02 January 2010
January 2 - The biggest story of 2009 in online poker, and perhaps in poker in general, was the startling rise of Isildur1, who remains anonymous but who has certainly captured the public`s attention thanks to daily appearances on Full Tilt that see several million dollars changing hands.
The way it seems to work is that the Swede (for we know that much) starts out by winning a couple million here and there, no sweat, from the likes of Tom Dwan, who has now been forced to shill for Full Tilt as one of their "ambassadors" as a result of having his bankroll violated by the new guy. Then Isildur1 bumps into someone like Patrik Anontius, or more recently Brian Hastings, who datamining in hand, takes all of the money plus some more.
This is of course the pattern in online poker and 99% of players should recognize it since it happens to them all the time. You win some money and then you lose it plus some more. The guys that won it then get beaten by someone else in turn and at the end of the day Full Tilt`s owners are billionaires from the rake and thousands of asocial college-dropouts think they have a career.
Whoever Isildur1 is he`s a whiner and seems more likely to be Australian (a nation of whingers) than Swedish. Where is the phlegmatic humorlessness? Instead he told Brian Hastings to "f off" and then told him he was incredibly lucky. That`s a bunch of cobblers since we now know that Hastings wasn`t lucky, he was breaking the terms and conditions (we call that cheating) and unfairly targeting the Swede.
Isildur1 probably won`t get back the $4.2 million he lost to Hastings in one session, but he doesn`t really deserve it, even if Hastings cut a few corners (someone colluded and/or cheated in online poker, no way!) - I`ve looked at some of the biggest hands played and Isildur1 was risking hundreds of thousands on top pair in Pot-Limit Omaha.
