Full Tilt Poker finally figured out a way to stop looking like Poker Star`s lame little brother, complete with hand-me-down software. They`ve invented "Rush Poker", where your next hand is only seconds away.
The concept is pretty simple. A large pool of easily distracted online poker players are grouped together at the same cash game limits. As soon as you fold your hand you are spirited away to another identical table where you get dealt your next hand. The skill and subtlety of poker, whereby you play the opponent and not the cards is hereby reduced to nil.
Since you get a new table of opponents every time you fold and acquire another hand there is little chance of developing a read on anyone. If you multitable on Rush Poker then there is hardly any time to develop a read on your own position. You can see where you are in terms of table position, barely, and then you click away. Or press quick fold and go to the next table.
If itt all sounds very 2.0, very American, and extremely depressing then it is. The fast food non-culture has found its way into online poker, already a bastardized form of a game best experienced in real life where tells and strategy play a larger part. Maybe I am just getting very, very old.
