2006 WSOP Player Of The Year Joins Full Tilt
|
Author: Marc Weinberg
August 15 - Full Tilt Poker enjoyed an exceptional month of publicity at this year's World Series Of Poker as pros who endorse the site fared very well in many WSOP events, with the best effort coming from 2005 WSOP Player Of The Year Allen Cunningham. Jeff Madsen, who is the 2006 WSOP Player Of The Year has now joined the online poker room as well.
Full Tilt has carved out a niche for itself in the competitive marketplace of online poker as the room where the pros play, and securing the endorsement of Jeff Madsen is a coup, or at least it will be once ESPN's coverage of the WSOP airs.
Madsen, who is barely 21, took the Series by storm winning 2 bracelets and finishing 3rd and 4th in two other events. His four final table finishes came in no less than three different poker games, and all four events featured huge fields.
It was a superb effort from the previously unknown college student, and signing with Full Tilt Poker is a natural move. He has also signed up with the main poker agency, Poker Royalty, who also represent Daniel Negreanu and Phil Hellmuth Jr. amongst others.
The 2005 WSOP Player Of The Year, Allen Cunningham, enjoyed another spectacular World Series in 06 as he finished 4th in the Main Event and won yet another bracelet.
Full Tilt players Mark Vos and Rafe Furst also won bracelets while Andy Bloch put in one of the most impressive performances seen in years when he finished second in the $50,000 buy-in H.O.R.S.E. event and battled David "Chip" Reese for many hours heads-up. It was the longest heads-up battle of all time at the WSOP, and Reese is widely considered to be the bext mixed-game player in the world, so kudos to Bloch as well.
Jeff Madsen will be a powerful addition to the team as he is destined to become a true poker superstar in our opinion.
