2007 WSOP Main Event First Prize Is $8.25M

July 10 - The 2007 WSOP is smaller than last year's version, but will still create five millionaires and one man (meant that) will walk away with a cool $8.25 million.
The 2006 World Series Of Poker produced many more millionaires and 30% more players, so the US ban on online gambling transactions has certainly had an impact there with far fewer online poker qualifiers.
The first 621 finishers will be paid, with the other 90% of the field going home with bad beat stories - since losing is rarely your fault (whereas poor players that win hands never seem to remember those moments).
Now my WSOP Main Event elimination was a genuine bad beat, naturally. All in preflop with AA vs KK, and the guy who held the Kings went on to win $3 million!
