2009 WSOPE Schedule Announced

 April 28 - European players will be pleased to note that the schedule for the third annual World Series of Poker Europe has been posted.
Betfair, which presents the WSOPE, together with Harrah's Entertainment, said that the event will be held from September 17th to October 1st, 2009 at the Casino at the Empire, London, UK.
The Chief Operations Officer for London Clubs International, Michael Silberling, said: "The Casino at the Empire has quickly become the destination for poker in the UK. We look forward to hosting the best players in the game for the WSOPE this fall and will continue to offer the finest poker action daily for those in Leicester Square."
There will be four bracelet tournaments in this year's event, one up from last year's tournament. Betfair said that the new 2,500 GBP Pot Limit Hold 'em/Pot Limit Omaha Mixed Event should attract many players who have asked for a tournament of this kind over the year.
The Chief Executive Officer of Betfair, David Yu said: "We are delighted to be working alongside Harrah's again for a successful third year of our sponsorship of the World Series of Poker Europe. We will remain the only place to qualify online for the WSOPE tournament and we are also very excited about the new $1 million promotion which, with free entry, will give the WSOPE a wider appeal and add more value than ever before."
Pre-registration for the tournament can take place online at Betfair Poker, or live at any London Clubs International venue across the United Kingdom.
"Winning a gold bracelet is recognized globally as the top prize in the sport," said WSOP Commissioner Jeffrey Pollack, "and we look forward to awarding four more bracelets in 2009 at the Casino at the Empire in London."
