April 17 - Always trying find ways to thrill their online poker players,
AbsolutePoker, the Kahnawake-licensed online site, has announced the launch
of an exciting new competition series which is "online action to die for",
according to the company's senior vice-president, David Clainer.
AbsolutePoker's Assassin Bounty Tournaments kick off these days at the site
and allow players to essentially earn money for knocking their fellow
contestants out. The beauty of these types of tournaments, says Clainer, is that
contestants have a higher chance of winning cash without actually winning the
poker game.
"Just as we did with the introduction of bad beat jackpot, we're making it
easier for players to profit big from Texas Hold 'em without necessarily winning
a game," said Clainer.
Absolute Poker explained that the Assassin Bounty Tournaments are played
along the lines of regular Texas Hold 'em matches, however there is the extra
element of a buy-in that is released to a player that is skilled enough to knock
a competitor out.
Checking out the Assassin Bounty Tournaments schedule certainly shows that
there are exciting times ahead for poker players. Each Saturday, players can try
their luck at the $209 buy-in Texas Hold 'em tournament, with a seat in the main
event of this summer's World Series of Poker event up for grabs as a prize.
The chance to win thousands of dollars at these Saturday events is much
greater, as $100 of the buy-in amount is pooled into the bounty fund. A player
who manages to knock out another will automatically win the $100 bounty attached
to his or her head.
Budget players, or those looking for practice sessions for the bigger
Saturday event, will also be pleased to note that AbsolutePoker will also run
smaller bounty tournaments during the week for lower buy-ins.
