September 27 - On Monday this week U.S. online poker player, alias 'nikstar',
won $39 548 at PokerStars.com World Championship of Online Poker (WCOOP) 7-Card
Stud event.
Over 650 poker players logged on to PokerStars.com, a popular online
poker room, to take part in the
prestigious WCOOP, more than expected which doubled the total prize pool to nearly $200 000.
A seat at the
PokerStars.com WCOOP tournament cost players $320 each, with cash prizes
earmarked for 88 players. The 88th finisher received $470, while the winner received
almost $40 000.
The final table at the WCOOP 7-Card Stud event saw eight intrepid online poker
players vying for the title and the grand prize. Five of the players were from
the United States, two from Germany, and one from Denmark.
Eventually, the eight were whittled down to just two for an exciting

It was just a
matter of time before nikstar dispatched Sassenage to claim victory, a WCOOP
