January 12 - On Wednesday this week, a 22-year Ryan Daut walked away $1.5
million richer when he won the PokerStars.com Caribbean Adventure
tournament at the tropical t Atlantis Resort and Casino in the Bahamas.
Not only did the grad student earn himself the kudos and automatic bragging
rights for outplaying five other poker players to snatch victory at the
PokerStars.com Caribbean Adventure, but also for winning a coveted World
Poker Tour (WPT) bracelet.
While Daut began the day short-stacked ($2.3 million in chips) compared with
chip leader Isaac Haxton ($9.2 million in chips), the gutsy young man played
hard and smart to gain the advantage and eventually the title becoming one of
the youngest poker players ever to win a WPT bracelet.
When interviewed after winning the
PokerStars.com Caribbean Adventure, Daut explained how excited he was at his
victory and admitted that the gravity of what he had achieved would probably
only dawn on him later.
The
PokerStars.com Caribbean Adventure attracted a total of 937 entrants with a
buy-in of just under $8000 each bringing the total prize money to $7.3 million.
