September 22 - The poker world enjoyed superb action last week during the
final table of the Full Tilt Million Dollar Cash Game.
The game has just completed the filming of its fourth season, proving once
again that it is the richest cash game in the industry.
Sponsored by Full Tilt online poker site, the event had the biggest poker pot
in TV history - a staggering $1.1 million.
The invitation only Million Dollar Cash Game features a bevy of poker legends
from around the world and attracted players such as Chris Ferguson, Phil Ivey,
Tom Durrrr Dwan and Patrik Antonius, among others this year.
All players have to put up their own $100K buy in money to compete in the
event and it is not for nothing that only the very best players in the world are
seen at the Full Tilt Million Dollar Cash Game each year.
This year, three of the most exceptional players provided a brilliant finale
to the fourth season of this game.
"After almost 20 hours of play, other players stepped aside as the Million
Dollar Cash Game turned shorthanded," recalled the Managing Director of Emblaze
Productions, the group that filmed this year's event.
"Three of the world's elite players: Phil Ivey, Patrik Antonius and Tom Dwan,
started playing blinds of US1K, US2K. It was great to watch," said James
Hopkins.
Antonius finally quit the game, bringing it to a showdown between Dwan and
Ivey. But "durrrr' proved too good for Ivey and eventually walked away the
winner of $1.1 million - the biggest poker to be won
on a TV show.
The game will be broadcast in January on Sky Sports and features commentary
by Full Tilt Pro Robert Williamson III.
