August 6 - Full Tilt Poker has reached out once more to grab a talented British player onto its team of professionals.
27 year old James "Flushy" Dempsey was rewarded with a full sponsorship deal by the top online poker room after showing what he is made of at this year's World Series of Poker tournament.
Dempsey added to WSOP 2010 being nicknamed "Year of the Brits" after cashing in four times for just over half a million dollars.
The highlight of Dempsey's WSOP adventure was picking up his first bracelet in the $1,500 pot limit hold 'em (No. 9) event.
He also finished as a runner up in the $10,000 Omaha Eight or Better (No. 25) event, after he was beaten by Sam Farha.
Dempsey is thrilled that his efforts are finally seeing fruit and said: "I couldn't be more excited. This is such a dream of mine. I've worked very hard for this over the years and to have won a bracelet and now this... it's fantastic!"
Dempsey has been making a living for himself as a professional poker player for a number of years and has earned close to $1 million by playing at PokerStars and Full Tilt Poker alone.
Since 2005, Dempsey has cashed in $735,000 from live tournaments, although the vast majority of that sum is from this year's WSOP.
British players made a mark for themselves at this year's WSOP, winning five bracelets in total.
Players who stood out included Richard Ashby, Praz Bansi, Mike Ellis and Steve Jelinek.
