House of Cards Documentary Filmed at WSOP
|
July
31 - As the 2006 World Series of Poker (WSOP) Main Event kicked off in Las Vegas
last week, a camera crew began capturing behind-the-scenes footage for a new
'warts and all' poker documentary, aptly called House of Cards.
The documentary, which is being filmed by ABA Entertainment, will follow
the private and poker lives of seven high profile professional poker players in
a 'Big Brother' type of format.
House of Cards features players Marc Goodwin, Brian Wilson, Dave Coldough, Al
Adler, Beverly Cheney and Tony Chessa.
During the WSOP, all seven players will live together in a $13 million Las Vegas
mansion called the 'Parisian Palace', rumored to have been at one time owned by
actress, Whoopi Goldberg.
For six straight weeks, camera crews will
follow each of the featured poker players in the House of Cards and at the WSOP
as they negotiate the pitfalls of professional poker, including the highs and
lows, glories and disappointments, and inevitable wins and losses.
Said Goodwin, 'Due to the nature of our profession it was only fitting that we
played a game of poker to decide who would get which room.
'I am sure that House of Cards will give viewers a new insight as to what really
goes on behind-the-scenes at the WSOP, the pinnacle event of the poker calendar,
highlighting all the pain and the gain,' he said.
This year's WSOP Main Event winner will walk away the 2006 WSOP Champion and $13
million richer, the most lucrative poker prize in the history of the game.
