Mansion Poker Parts Ways with Ongame Network
|
October 9 - After only one year on the Ongame Poker Network, Mansion Poker has decided to part ways and join another network. Although no specific reason was given for the parting in a joint statement issued by the two groups last week, it was clear that the decision was amicable and without any bitter feelings.
In an announcement last Friday, it was stated: "In a mutual decision, Mansion (Gibraltar) Ltd. and Ongame Network have decided to part ways and have moved the MansionPoker.com Poker service from the Ongame Network as of September 24th , 2008. Due to strategic differences it has been decided to end the two companies' dynamic one-year partnership before Ongame Network enters the preparation phase of launching a new online poker network based on the recently announced P5 Poker Engine product."
Mansion Poker has announced that it will be shifting to the rival iPoker Network - considered only one spot above Ongame Network's fifth place in terms of ring game popularity. iPoker boasts some of the top poker rooms on the internet as members, including Betfred Poker and Titan Poker.
iPoker is currently in the process of launching its innovative P5 Poker Engine brand that has been declared "the first game engine ever developed specifically for online poker." The industry was impressed when iPoker showcased the poker engine at the recent European iGaming Congress and Expo in Barcelona, Spain.
When Mansion Poker linked with the Ongame Network in October last year, joining other sites such as PokerRoom and Eurobet, it was warmly received by the group, which enthused about the 'great synergy' shared by the two entities. At the time, the Chief Executive Officer of the Mansion Group, Guy Gussarsky said that he had specifically chosen iPoker for its "ability to enhance our business rather than consume it."
