Poker Pro Tony G Mows Em Down in Moscow

3 - Tony G, one of the best-known poker professionals in the world, has
mowed down the competition by winning the inaugural Moscow Millions poker
tournament held in the once Communist capital, walking away with the $500
000 first prize and a gold bracelet.
The Australian poker player originally from Lithuania is well-known for his
poker antics that include a constant stream of chatter in the hope of psyching
out and or irritating his opponents into submission, earning him the nickname 'the
mouth from down under'.
Tony G was one of the main draw cards to the Moscow Millions poker
tournament, a two-day poker event with a $25 000 buy-in and increasing blinds in
90 minute intervals, as well currently the most lucrative poker event on the Russian
poker calendar.
Said Tony G after his victory, 'I was very impressed with the structure of
Moscow Millions and think it is even better than the World Series of Poker Main
Event because we had two dealers at the final table, which meant that the next
hand was shuffled and ready to go thus saving time between hands.'
Despite his reputation as a 'brash loud mouth', incredibly Tony G donated his
$500 000 winnings to a Russian orphanage, showing a softer side to his
personality and endearing himself to the Russian poker-loving public and Moscow
Millions organizers alike.
Although one of the main sponsors of the Moscow Millions event pulled out before the
event, organizers were thrilled with the turnout this year
and are looking forward to the tournament growing in stature and becoming one of
the 'hottest poker tournaments in the world'.
