December 21 - Despite a third quarter that saw giant online gambling service
provider, Party Gaming struggle, the group was pleased to report on
Friday that things are certainly looking up.
Official numbers for the group's 4th quarter results are not yet out, and
will not be announced until February 2010, however Party Gaming is sure that if
things continue as they are, its performance will be in line with expectations,
and may even exceed them.
Party Gaming is hoping to see the biggest improvement in its poker brand,
which struggled slightly in the third quarter, but is definitely showing signs
of resuscitation as the year reaches its end.
Party Poker struggled to find its feet after it was forced to leave the US
market following the introduction of the Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement
Act in 2006.
However, Party Gaming has been determined to revive its once thriving poker
arm and its efforts are started to bear fruit.
Party Gaming recently purchased the World Poker Tour and its
PartyPoker.it
site in the fast growing Italian market is also expected to show good results by
the time 4th quarter results are announced in February.
"Returning poker to growth has been a key focus for us," said the Chief
Executive Officer of Party Gaming, Jim Ryan.
"We are pleased to see that the initiatives introduced throughout the year
are now feeding through into both operational and financial performance with
increased player numbers and average net daily revenues versus the previous
quarter, despite continued competition from illegal US-facing sites and the
difficult macroeconomic climate," he said.
