Poker Stars Signs up Johnny Lodden
|
 April 1 - Poker Stars, top online poker room, has announced that it has signed up Norwegian poker sensation, Johnny Lodden to join its professional team of players.
Despite his young age, Lodden has a rich and illustrious career behind him and Poker Stars believes that he has many years of poker wins ahead of him.
When he was just 18, Lodden was already considered one of the best online players in the world and his future seemed very promising. But Lodden decided to break into the live poker world instead and proved how versatile a player he really is.
In 2004, Lodden won his first live international title at the St. Maarten Open and has definitely made an excellent impression on the Poker Stars EPT Tour over the years (where he won over a quarter of a million dollars alone).
The Marketing Manager for Poker Stars in Norway, Thomas Udness, commented on the new addition to the virtual poker room and said: "This signing is fantastic for Poker Stars.com, Johnny Lodden and the Norwegian poker community. Since his breakthrough in 2004, Johnny has played on a really high level and deserves the title as the first Norwegian Team Poker Stars Pro."
Lodden's last years have been especially successful. He finished in 11th place in the World Series of Poker Europe Main Event last year, and this year he was voted Norway's best poker player.
