March 17 - Ultimate Bet, one of the most sought-after poker sites on the
internet, has signed up another player to add to its team of professionals. The
latest ace to join Team Ultimate Bet is Anthrax guitarist, Scott Ian who is
naturally excited to come aboard.
Scott Ian discovered his poker talent after he won the VH1 Rock Stars of
Poker at the Palms in Las Vegas. This title awarded him entry into the 2007
Aruba Poker Classic run by Ultimate Bet. However, Ian is quick to write off this
win at the first tournament. At the time he stated: "I had no idea what I was
doing. My first tournament win was mainly because I had amazing cards. My
instinct was all that I had".
However, Ian's natural talent for the game soon shone through after he spent
a week's tutoring under the wings of Ultimate Bet poker gurus, Annie Duke and
eleven-times World Series of Poker champion, Phil Hellmuth. Throughout the last
year, Ian has received endless guidance from these pros and he feels like has
gone through the equivalent of "ten years of poker lessons" since the Aruba
Poker Classic.
Scott Ian received Hellmuth's unofficial nod of approval after he was invited
to the star's 2007 Holiday Bash at the Palms, and his latest achievement has
been to join Ultimate Bet's professional team of players.
While Ian will be found playing at the Ultimate Bet tables on a regular
basis, he will also appear each Sunday at the poker room's $200,000 poker
tournament with a bounty on his head. Any player who manages to knock Ian out of
the event will win his or her buy-in amount back.
Scott Ian joins other professionals such as Shawn Rice and KrazyKanuck at
Ultimate Bet.
