World Poker Tour to Take to the Skies
|
June 27 - The World Poker Tour (WPT) has announced a new sponsorship deal with
Southwest Airlines, which will make the airline the official carrier for WPT
poker players, staff and officials during the sixth season.
The sky seems to be the limit with a well matched sponsorship, as WPT
professional poker players are always on the move, traveling from one city to
the next, with a need to reach their next destination quickly and safely.
Enter Southwest Airlines, which will not only be featured on the official WPT
website, but will also feature heavily on television during Season 6 of the
WPT's Watch and Win sweepstakes to be aired on the Game Show Network in early
2008.
During the broadcast, Southwest Airline has agreed to reward one lucky viewer
with a Free trip to watch a live World Poker Tour final table, which viewers can compete for
by simply sending a text 'code' to a specified number.
On the World Poker Tour website, visitors can download a Free handy online 'travel customizer' to allow them to select up to 10 cities Southwest Airlines
operates in, and receive alerts when discount fares come up for those cities.
Said a Southwest Airlines spokesperson, 'We are very pleased to have entered
into a sponsorship agreement with the World Poker Tour and see this as a
wonderful opportunity for Southwest to be involved in the dynamic world of
professional poker.'
