I've realized something quite important when it comes to bad poker players; it could even be classified as a little-known poker secret and it might help to keep you balanced and less likely to go on tilt the next time you sit down to play a session.
Bad poker players will eventually lose their entire bankroll. They will go broke playing bottom pair against four callers. They will go broke looking you up when they hold Ace-high. They will go broke when they cap the betting with their flush even though the board has paired. They will go broke...but not necessarily in that session, and not necessarily to you.
When you play good solid poker a sense of entitlment comes over you when you spot a fish. The feeling is that you will take his money because you are a better player. All the poker textbooks make it clear with mathematical precision that this will happen. What they fail to mention is that bad players win a lot of pots. They lose a lot more than they win, which is the ultimate reason that they go broke, but they don't lose those pots to the same people that they beat. There is very little fairness in poker - the guy who sucks out on you and nabs a huge pot then goes and gives it all back to SOMEONE ELSE. Or at least, he is as likely to give it away to anyone else as he is to give it back to you.
You need to worry about your own game. Identify weak players and try to isolate them, but do not feel entitled to their money. It's up for grabs, and it will disappear, but there is no written rule which states that they have to give it to the good players. There are going to be lots of times when they play poorly and win, and then right in front of you they continue to play poorly (what else are they going to do?) and lose it all...just not to you.
