Absolute Poker and Ultimate Bet Merger on the Cards
November 8 - The online poker fraternity is abuzz with rumors that Absolute Poker
and Ultimate Bet, two of the Internet's most popular online poker rooms, may in
fact merge.
Over the past few weeks rumors have been flying around that the two online poker
'giants' will consolidate and, in so doing, become one of the largest online
poker rooms in the world.
What makes this merger even more exciting is the fact that unlike many of their
competitors, both Absolute Poker and Ultimate Bet continue to accept players
from the US, despite the recent passing into law of the Unlawful Internet
Gambling Enforcement Act.
Both online poker rooms are currently licensed in the Canadian online gambling
jurisdiction of Kahnawake, and have been around for some years - Ultimate Bet
since 2000 and Absolute Poker since 2003.
It is expected that either or both of the online poker companies will make an
official announcement to the media regarding the merger at some point this week.
