September 19 - Absolute Poker issued a press release reiterating their commitment to American online poker players. They've announced some software upgrades and plan to stay in the USA when many other top poker rooms (Doyles' Room, Poker Room, Party Poker, Paradise Poker) abandoned ship in the face of UIGEA.
As a USA resident I decided to try out Absolute Poker and see if it was easy to deposit and withdraw funds, since that is the crux of the matter. The results were very surprising. I was able to use a CREDIT CARD(!) to make a deposit. Not one of thoe pre-paid/debit /phone cards but my actual Visa card from a major bank. Good for you Absolute Poker!
I'll let you know about the withdrawal part once I win a damn hand and stop getting those one-out river coolers that can make me the most boring conversationalist on the planet, but deposits for USA players could not be any easier.
The software upgrades are also very cool -including the much loved "rabbit cam" feature where you can see one more card if the hand ends prior to the turn or river card being dealt. And did I mention the whopping 100% match bonus up to $500? It's also pretty easy to clear that bonus because the conditions are fair (unlike say the old Hollywood Poker bonuses), so all in all Absolute Poker is highly recommended.
