America Online (AOL), have announced that they have joined the frenzy and are
launching their own online poker room. They have signed an exclusive
agreement with the World Series of Poker to provide an online poker room
for card players who use AOL...
All games will be for free, but 12 players will win seats in the2006 or 2007
WSOP main tournaments, valued at $10,000. AOL sees this as a big draw card to
get poker players to their poker room. But there's more, one player will get a
seat to the annual WSOP tournament of champions. Players have to be 21
years of age to qualify.
It is reported that AOL will provide poker news and poker training.
The only downside it that apparently players will be forced to view
advertisements.
Ed: Another outsider joins the poker industry. Only time will tell. It's
like a few years ago when everyone wanted to be a bank.
