The Australian Poker Championship began this Friday, and will culminate in one of the biggest no-limit poker tournaments in the world with an estimated prize pool of $5 million. The event, better known as the Aussie Millions, will attract many of the world's top poker players, including the defending World Series Of Poker champion, Australia's own Joe Hachem.
The tournament takes place in Melbourne at the Crown casino. Many of the players in the $10,000 buy-in main event will be there courtesy of online poker qualifiers, hosted by some of the best new poker rooms on the Internet. Poker.com gave away a number of seats for the Aussie Millions. These prize packages are well worth the small satellite entry fee simply for the exotic destination and potential payoffs if you can navigate your way through the final field.
