| December 1 - Titan Poker's European Championship of Online Poker (ECOOP) has become an event that many poker players look forward to annually, and this year's event is no exception.
The No Limit Hold 'em poker tournament, which kicked off the fourteen day ECOOP event drew a staggering 1,420 players, all bidding for their chance of taking home first prize of nearly $60,000, as well as the much desired ECOOP bracelet.
After a nail biting finish on November 24th, the player IAmBetterThanThou won $59,640 in a dramatic opening to the third ECOOP event operated by Titan Poker.
All in all, players in the opening event took home prizes valued at $284,000 - and the popularity of the tournament could be seen by the fact that this prize pool was substantially higher than the $250,000 guaranteed by Titan Poker.
This year's ECOOP has promised to be bigger and better than ever. Not only has the time period over which the tournament spans been extended to two weeks, but the guaranteed prize pool has increased to a massive $4.15-million.
December 7 will see the Main Event of the ECOOP III being played out with a huge $1.5 million in guaranteed prizes up for grabs.
Until then, players can qualify for other tournaments in this fortnight-long event by playing at satellites at Titan Poker - one of the most popular Playtech-powered online poker rooms on the internet and part of the excellent i-Poker network.
