July 21 - The final event of the 2008 World Series of Poker has not even been
played out yet, but already interest for the next year's competition is growing.
Bodog Poker became the first online poker room to reward three lucky
players with a unique VIP package that will take them to the WSOP 2009 event
next year.
The players, pokerfanx789, boswan and dudix, will each join Team Bodog at the
WSOP 2009 competition and stand in line to win millions of dollars.
Their prize package is worth a very generous $12,000 and includes flights,
accommodation and buy ins.
The prizes were won at the very popular Bodog Poker Mini Series that
attracted players from all over the world and allowed them to take part in
tournaments that mirrored the actual World Series of Poker but with buy ins of
only 1% of the real thing.
"Team Bodog players had an amazing run at this year's series in Las Vegas and
we're already gearing up for next summer by awarding three seats to the 2009
Main Event," said the Chief Executive Officer of Morris Mohawk Gaming Group,
Alwyn Morris. "The three winners of our Bodog Poker Mini Series are guaranteed
an experience like no other in Las Vegas as they compete for a shot at poker
stardom and millions of dollars."
The Bodog Poker Mini Series attracted over 3350 players and paid out a total
of $107,000 in prize money to lucky poker fans. Buy ins ranged from a very low
$10 + $1 and increased to an impressive $100 + $9 for those who wanted to try
their luck at higher stakes.
The final table was played out on Thursday, July 10th, with the top three
players winning the lucrative VIP packages to next year's event.
