British Woman Wins PartyPoker World Open II
|
September 20 - A mother of two, Pippa Flanders beat out over 70 international
poker players to win the PartyPoker.com World Open II hosted recently at
London's The Poker Den.
Flanders earned herself a cool $200 000 and the title of PartyPoker.com World
Open II champion for her efforts. No stranger to poker, she started playing
professional poker in 2002 and hasn't looked back.
What has made Flanders' victory even more amazing is the fact that she and only
one other woman entered the PartyPoker.com World Open II.
On her way to victory, she managed to dispatch some of the world's best poker
players including last year's
PartyPoker.com World Open winner, Lee Nelson, as
well as Harry Demetriou, Kenna James, Tony Bloom, Marc Goodwin, Roland De Wolfe
and Tony Guoga.
Said Pippa, 'I am obviously thrilled to have won the
PartyPoker.com World Open
II as well as very proud that I was one of only two female players in the event.
I would like to send a big thank you to PartyPoker.com.'
