Californian Wins Poker Circuit Tahoe Event
|
When 32-year old plumber, Clint Baskin, entered the World Series of
Poker Circuit (WSOPC) Lake Tahoe event, little did he imagine that he would take
home the $370 000 top prize, as well as beat out some true poker greats.
Baskin, from Stockton, California, beat out a total of 110 other poker players
at the WSOPC event, including the 2000 World Poker Champ, Chris 'Jesus' Ferguson
and 1995 World Poker champ, Dan Harrington.
But the list doesn't end there as Baskin also trounced the likes of Daniel
Negreanu, Erik Seidel, Chau Giang, Billy Baxter, Allen Cunningham, 'Miami' John
Cernuto, Bob Stupak, Barry Greenstein and John Juanda to land himself at the
prestigious final table.
Once at the final table, Basking found himself facing Jamin Stokes, Brian
Fidler, Matt Russell, Tony Le, Joe DuBois, Robert Cheung, J.C. Tran and Justin
Scott.
With the third highest chip count at the table, Baskin took just 10 hours and
almost 250 poker hands to dispatch all of his opponents, earning himself 370
grand and the prestigious gold and diamond ring presented to every World Series
of Poker Circuit champion.
The final table results and prizes were:
First place Clint Baskin ($372,240), second place Brian Fidler ($206,800), third
place Tony Le ($113,740), fourth place Robert Cheung ($82,720), fifth place
Justin Scott ($72,380), sixth place J.C. Tran ($62,040), seventh place Joe
DuBois ($51,700), eighth place Matt Russell ($41,360) and ninth place Jamin
Stokes ($31,020).
