Caribbean Poker Classic Final Table Recap
|
The 2005 Caribbean Poker Classic produced a total prize pool of $1,45 million as 249 players ponied up $6,000 apiece. Caribbean Sun Poker sent plenty of those players via their highly successful online poker satellite tournaments for the main event. The eventual winner, Bjorin Wilk who hails from Norway, netted a cool $347,880.
The final table was a global affair with the Norwegian joined by a host of European players including "El Blondie" himself, the well-known poker pro Dave Colclough, as well as a top poker pro from the United States, Todd Witteles, and an Australian, Jeff Sharpe as opposed to the ubiquitous Joseph Hachem, was thrown into the mix as well.
Other big names that fared well in the event included Kathy Liebert, much maligned by other pros but a consistent money earner in these spots. Liebert finished 18th and earned $21k for her efforts, and Colclough, who is very well known in the UK for his poker prowess, finished 6th and made over $50k.
The event was held at the Royal Beach hotel at St. Kitts, so even if you were knocked out early the scenery and luxurious surroundings were spectacular enough to take your mind off championship poker!
Congratulations to Caribbean Sun Poker for promoting the event and ensuring that online poker continues to offer the best value for those looking to compete as serious tournament poker players.
