Clonie Gowen Sues Full Tilt Poker

Full Tilt Poker

November 25 - Poker player Cycalona 'Clonie' Gowen has filed a lawsuit against internet poker site Full Tilt Poker. She filed the lawsuit in Nevada in which she claims breach of contract and is asking for $40 million in compensation.

Full Tilt has appointed Clonie Gowen as a sponsored player for the site in 2004, when the site was established. The site recently contacted Gowen to inform her that they no longer require her services and that her image would no longer be used on their promotional materials.

The twenty-page lawsuit states that Gowen accepted a 1% share in Full Tilt and their parent firm Tilt Ware LLC and that this agreement happened during the online poker room launch in 2004 instead of issuing monetary compensation at the time. She then continued to promote the website in exchange for the ownership interest and received no extra compensation.

Gowen alleged that she noticed in May of last year that she was the only one of Full Tilt's sponsored poker player pros that does not receive distribution checks. She then said that she wanted any cash owed to her at that point in time, and was offered a sum of $250,000, which she refused to accept as she said it was only a small percent what she was owed.

She then continued to promote the site until the 11th November when Full Tilt informed her that the website no longer plans to sponsor her. She said that the website is worth about $4 billion and that they have not yet given her a reason as to why they did not pay her distribution payments like they did with all the other sponsored players.

The lawsuits was filed on Friday with Judge Robert Jones and contains intricate details of verbal contracts, meetings, and telephone calls that she had with Tilt Ware executives in 2004.

Tilt Ware, on the other hand, claims that although it is aware of the filing of the lawsuit, they believe that Gowen's allegations contain inaccuracies and are without merit.
