Daniel Negreanu Wins High Stakes Showdown
|
September 5 - One of the best-known professional poker players in the world,
Canadian Daniel Negreanu proved on Sunday this weekend why he is such a top-rated
player when he won his first-ever PokerStars High Stakes Showdown and $50 000 in
prize money that accompanied it.
Negreanu who has a reputation as a 'poker shark hidden in sheep's clothing',
said after his victory that he had known about the PokerStars High Stakes
Showdown for some time, but had never had the opportunity to play in it until
this past weekend.
With a hefty $10 000 buy-in, the High Stakes Showdown at leading online poker
room Poker Stars is sure as nuts not for the faint-hearted or online poker
players just starting out, unless of course they have more money then sense.
Recently, another professional player, Barry Greenstein, showed
the folks at PokerStars.com how to take down the main pot at a High Stakes
Showdown event.
While it may smart to lose a $10K buy-in, the consolation is
that regular PokerStars' online poker players get to play with some of the planet's greatest
highest-ranked poker pros.

PokerStars.com
right now, where
you can chase down the nuts in a wide variety of online poker games and
tournaments.
Of course, remember to be at PokerStars.com this Sunday for another
High Stakes Showdown and you could meet Daniel Negreanu himself.
