Doyle Brunson Fails to Win 11th WSOP Bracelet
|
July 4 - Yesterday at the 2007 World Series of Poker (WSOP), poker legend Doyle
Brunson just came up short to win what would have been his 11th WSOP bracelet at
the $10,000 Pot Limit Omaha event.
While Brunson played some skillful poker, it just wasn't enough to get him into
a final heads-up match. The old Texan managed to limp into the event's final
table with the fifth largest chip stack, but the old timer failed to improve
upon it.
While he was knocked out in sixth place by talented Finnish poker professional, Patrik 'The Flying Finn'
Antoneli, the 'grandfather of poker' still earned himself a respectable $123 697 in prize money. Not bad for just a couple of
hours 'at the office'.
Doyle Brunson won WSOP bracelets in the $10,000 No Limit Hold'em World
Championship in 1976, $5,000 Deuce to Seven Draw in 1977, $10,000 No Limit
Hold'em World Championship in 1977, $1,000 Seven-Card Stud Split in 1977,
$5,000 Seven-Card Stud in 1978, $600 Mixed Doubles in 1979, $2,500 No
Limit Hold'em in 1991, $1,500 Seven-Card Razz in 1998, $2,000 H.O.R.S.E. in
2003, and $5,000 No Limit Shorthanded Texas Hold'em in 2005.
