Doyles Room Changes to Microgaming Poker Network
|
April 16 - Top-rated online poker room, Doyles Room, has joined the Microgaming
Poker Network, it was announced recently, in a strategic move designed to allow
the poker room to expand more easily into the European online gambling market.
Named after and owned by poker legend, Doyle 'Texas Dolly' Brunson, Doyles Room
has been a popular online poker destination since it was launched in 2004, using
top-end poker software provided by Tribeca-Tain-Playtech Network.
There has been much speculation within the online gambling industry of late
about whether Doyles Room would stay with its existing online poker platform
provider, Tribeca Network, or switch over to the Microgaming
Network.
It is thought that Doyles Room chose to go the Microgaming route mainly because
of its access to some of the online poker world's highest-traffic tournament
schedules, along with the fact that the Network boasts 40 prime online poker
sites.
Said a Doyles Room spokesperson, 'We are obviously very pleased to welcome to be
a part of the highly-respected and popular Microgaming Poker Network. When we
started looking at alternative online poker software providers, we found pretty
early on that Microgaming met all of our requirements.'
