Eastenders Star Signs with Littlewood Poker

June 27 - If the fun, excitement and challenge of poker is not enough to get you to play at your favorite site, maybe the chance of playing against former Eastenders star, Michael Greco, may do the trip.

Greco, who was voted the 'sexiest man on television' for his role as Beppe di Marco in the UK hit show, Eastenders, has become a sponsored Littlewoods Poker player and will represent the site in gaming tournaments online and off.

Since leaving the show in 2002, Michael Greco started his flourishing poker career, highlighted by a 100,000 GBP win at a poker event in Cardiff last year.

"When I first started getting interested in the game, I was just playing with friends and learning the basics," said Greco. "However, I've now been playing poker for around five years and I'm delighted that Littlewoods Poker has chosen to sponsor me for the new season."

Greco will play against Littlewoods Poker players on a regular basis at the site's exciting monthly bounty tournaments, where players can earn hundreds of pounds for knocking him out of the tournament.

"There aren't many great celebrity poker players around," said Greco, "and I think some professionals are a bit skeptical of them, so it's great that I've been given the chance to show what I can do. Over the past couple of years, I've been trying to stay away from the limelight and the celebrity lifestyle that I had while I was in Eastenders, and although I'm still working as an actor, I've also been concentrating very hard on my poker."

Greco said many professional poker players see him as an easy target because they don't expect him to be particularly good at the game. "But they don't realize that, as an actor, I have a great advantage as I can bluff very well and I can either hide my tells or create false ones to confuse them," he said. "Poker pros are also terrible actors, so you can usually tell what they're trying to hide and use that to your advantage."
