Eastgate Signs with Poker Royalty
|
November 27 - Being the youngest ever winner of the World Series of Poker Main Event brings with it a lot of pride and prestige, but it also requires a lot of responsibility. 22 year old Peter Eastgate, winner of the 2008 Main Event has decided to put his career in the hands of the prestigious Las Vegas poker agency, Poker Royalty and allow this company to help manage the responsibilities that come with the title.
"I believe the team at Poker Royalty is best suited to help me navigate through the duties and responsibilities that arise as the reigning World Series of Poker champion," said Eastgate. "They represent the biggest names in poker and I'm honored to have them working on my behalf."
Peter Eastgate represents a new type of player - a young, fearless professional who has gained most of his experience in the game playing online. Despite his young age, Eastgate has several years experience with PokerStars and Ladbrokes Poker, representing sites at land based tournaments since 2005.
Eastgate, a Danish native, gave up a college education to pursue his dream of becoming a professional poker player.
"Peter is the epitome of the young, intelligent and fearless online poker professional whose game has translated fantastically to the world of live tournament poker," said the director of European operations at Poker Royalty, Jim Erwood. "It is a very unique opportunity for us, because he's a very marketable 22 year old international player with $9 million in the bank. Peter can afford to be very selective with the endorsement relationships he chooses and align himself with opportunities that suit him perfectly."
