ECheck May be Back on Track
|
June 20 - Although nothing has been confirmed just yet, there have been a number of encouraging threads found on popular online forums, indicating that players are now able to deposit their echecks to receive payouts.
The last fortnight has seen many online poker players frustratingly trying to cash their echecks that were issued to them by online poker sites such as Full Tilt Poker and Poker Stars for their winnings.
It was soon discovered that the New York authorities were behind a ploy to block payment to these players and, at present, at least four banks have been ordered to freeze the transfer of funds to two payment processors acting for the online poker sites.
It is estimated that up to $30 million is being held and that 27,000 online poker players have been left out of pocket.
The latest threads on pocketfives, 2+2 and other forums, however, indicate that some players were able to deposit their echecks.
It remains to be seen whether the cashouts will actually go through.
In the meantime, Full Tilt Poker and Poker Stars, true to their word of maintaining the highest level of customer satisfaction, have been reimbursing all those players that were affected by the freeze on their funds.
Thankfully, there are still a number of solid payment options available to US players at online poker, and they are worth checking out.
Full Tilt Poker is offering a 100% first deposit bonus, while Poker Stars has a similar promotion.
