August 29 - One of the most lucrative and popular online poker tournaments in
the industry will be back in October this year and its organizers, Ladbrokes,
has assured the gambling public that this year's event will be bigger and better
than ever.
According to Ladbrokes, its European Online Championship of Poker
(LEOCOP) will run for fifteen days from the end of October (26th) to November
9th. A Master's Event will take place a couple of weeks later on the 17th of
November, run as a $120,000 freeroll event.
Ladbrokes traditionally stresses the community aspect of the tournament as
well as the prizes up for grabs. "As you know, we put a lot of emphasis on the
importance of community and the LEOCOP is like our annual family gathering,"
said the Managing Director of Ladbrokes Poker, Edward Ihre. "Of course the kudos
and the massive prize pools are also very good reasons that players Europe-wide
play this fantastic event."
Ladbrokes plans to run the LEOCOP Main Event on November 9, with a $1000 plus
$100 buy in. The online poker site will also infuse another $150,000 as an extra
amount for the prize pool.
Ladbrokes will follow this tradition of pitching in at most of the events
during the poker tournament, ranging from $2,500 to R250,000.
There will be a number of exciting poker options during the LEOCOP, including
Omaha events and Texas Hold 'em events.
In addition to the regular tournament structure, Ladbrokes will also run a
leaderboard during the fifteen days and plans to award nearly $14,000 to the top
ten players on the board at the end of the event.
