August 3 - Highly frequented online poker room,
Full Tilt Poker, has announced
that it will no longer be sponsoring the upcoming Moscow Millions poker
tournament due to its already-full poker tournament schedule.
Full Tilt Poker's announcement has come as blow for the Russian poker tournament
which is set for October 20 to 22 this year and is expected to attract some land
and online poker heavyweights, as well as top Full Tilt Poker players.
The poker room's official reason for pulling out is that it has 'recognized the
potential of Moscow Millions and as such has taken a decision to pull out this
year to ensure complete dedication to the success of the event'.
Since early June this year, Full Tilt Poker has been running a slew of
qualifiers to the event, including weekly online poker satellites with a Moscow
Millions $15 000 prize package up for grabs to tournament which is expected to
be televised.
Online Poker Insider has it on good authority that Full Tilt Poker pros such as
Erik Seidel, Chris 'Jesus' Ferguson and Howard Lederer were already committed to
the tournament and had already started honing their vodka-drinking skills.
The good news is that despite the online poker room's absence, Moscow Millions
will still go ahead as planned.
