Granny Invents Poker-Style Board Games
|
July 18 - Inspiration knows no bounds as demonstrated by 68-year-old
grandmother, Joyce Ayers, who recently invented not one but two poker-styled
board games.
Ayers decided to think up new and exciting ways of enjoying the game of poker
so she came up with 'Lightning Poker' and 'Pirate Poker'.
Soon after inventing these games, Joyce took them to an inventors' convention in
Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania where people were fascinated with them.
The word soon spread and to date, Joyce has received over1500 orders for the
poker board games which retail for just under $25 each.
Lightning Poker is played with 3 to 8 people. After each player has Anti'd up,
they are dealt four cards face up. The objective of the game is for a player to
clear all four of their cards using the 13 community cards, and thus win the
main pot.
Pirate Poker is also played with 3 to 8 players. However, in this version each
player is initially dealt three cards face up, and then three cards face down
one at a time between betting rounds. The objective is to make the best
five-card poker hand out of the six cards dealt.
Well done granny, we here at Online Poker Insider applaud your efforts and look
forward to playing Lightning Poker and Pirate Poker very soon!
