Greenstein Closes In On Another World Poker Tour Title
No poker player is hotter in 2006 than Barry Greenstein, who has long been known as one of the greatest cash game players in the world. Now he is enjoying the same success in high profile tournaments, and he is the favorite to win the latest WPT event, the World Poker Challenge.
Greenstein has already won a World Poker Tour Event in LA this year, and he is the biggest name by far at the WPT World Poker Challenge final table. The event is being held at the Reno Hilton and features a first prize of over $1 million plus a $25,000 seat at the World Poker Tour Championship next month in Vegas. Greenstein already has that seat wrapped up of course, plus he would give the $1 million to a children's charity if he won!
Barry Greenstein enjoyed a huge chip lead for most of the day yesterday but goes into the final table lying second. The current chip leader is Mike Simon.
Big names that were eliminated in action yesterday included Chau Giang (who went out on the very first hand of the day), Carlos Mortensen, and the last woman in the event, Liz Lieu.
