Hachem to Make Big Screen Debut
|
May
18 - The Australian winner of the 2005 World Series of Poker Main Event,
Joseph Hachem, is set to grace the big screen as he makes his movie debut
starring opposite some of Australia and America's finest young actors.
Hachem, who scooped the WSOP Main Event title, a coveted gold bracelet
and $7.5 million in prize money, will join forces with Australian starlet
Natalie Bassingthwaighte and Jesse Johnson, son of Hollywood hunk, Don Johnson.
The movie called 'Prey' will be filmed in Australia and is based on the true
story of two Americans who disappeared in the Australian outback near a sacred
Aboriginal site in the late eighties, and were presumed dead.
Two years later, however, both men were found dead of natural causes several
thousand miles apart in North America. The movie deals with three couples who
return to the site of the disappearance 20 years later with terrifying results.
Hachem is expected to play a small but important role in the film, which starts
filming in Melbourne and Perth in June this year. If Hachem's acting is anything
like his poker bluffing, he should put in an impressive performance!
