September 3 - The ten nominees for the Poker Hall of Fame were released by Harrah's this week, highlighting the diversity that the poker industry is able to boast.
This year's list features two women and four World Series of Poker champions, as well as some extremely high-profile players.
The full list is as follows:
"I can't image a better or more qualified group of 10 nominees than this," said the Media Director for WSOP, Nolan Dalla.
"The only question I see on each of these names is not if they will make it into the Poker Hall of Fame, because in the long run most of them will inevitably be inducted," said Dalla. "The real question is which one or two candidates will be inducted this year. The best thing about this list is there's no question that she or she will be most deserving."
The two women up for consideration are both equally deserving.
Linda Johnson was an inaugural inductee of the Women in Poker Hall of Fame, and both have been very active in promoting the game among women.
