August 1 - A lucky player from Finland was the one who finally hit the Bad
Beat Jackpot on the International Poker Network (IPN) after several long and
nail biting months.
The player, know as OmgoMgomGo cashed in a very impressive $640,696 after
'losing' to 7Adelaida7's quad Aces at Poker Heaven
online poker
room site, which is
part of the IPN platform.
The Bad Beat Jackpot has been making wages in the industry for a while,
especially it past the €1 million mark earlier this month, and was finally
hit at a staggering $1,831,426 (€1,265,583).
Recalling his win, the Finnish player said: "I had two Kings and all the
money went in pre-flop."
"Once I hit my quads and saw the second Ace come on the river I was hoping
that my opponent had hit their one outer. I was so happy when I realized it had
happened. I still cannot believe it."
"The atmosphere at the table when it hit was great and I would like to thank
all of the players and the PokerHeaven.com staff for their best wishes," he
said.
A House, A Car and Lots of Partying
Asked what he intended doing with all the extra cash, the winner
said that he was planning to buy a house and a car, and would be doing lots of
partying.
7Adelaida7 didn't do too bad either. The player won $320,391,
while the seven other players who just happened to be sitting at the table when
the Bad Beat Jackpot hit each came out with over $45,000.
The VP for GTech G2, which runs the IPN, William Scott said:
"These are exciting times for the IPN. We’ve raised the bar with a massive new
world record and, with our investment of two million Euros into the IPN, we are
committed to delivering even bigger promotions and tournaments to our players."
The Bad Beat Jackpot has now been reset to $360,000.
